Stained Glass Lab (for non-beginners)
Session fee is $240, pay in studio on first day
Classes are on-going so may begin any Wednesday thru Fridays. But you must reserve them in advance.
Wednesdays & Thursday evenings are 6 - 8:30 pm or Thursdays/Friday afternoons (prearrange times with JaYing)
For those with basic stained glass skills, you can continue your stained glass journey with a more complex pattern of your choice. Size is limited to 2'x2' (up to 4 sq.ft). If your project is larger than 4 sq.ft, then additional charge will be $22/sq ft. JaYing can assist you in designing a custom pattern. You can use copper foil method or lead came method. Classes are on-going so you may start any Wednesday or Thursday evenings or pre-arranged times Thursdays or Friday afternoons. Lab duration will be about six weeks. If it takes you longer to finish, then additional lab fee will be charged.
Special Notes:
Class fee includes instruction/advice, pattern design, use of tools, glass grinder, diamond grinder bit, use of Taurus Diamond Ring Saw, copper foil, solder, zinc border, flux, patina, hooks & fishing line for hanging.
Fee DOES NOT include glass or lead came/putty/cement (if doing lead came method). Alameda Art Lab will have a selection of art glass for sale, or you may purchase glass from other art glass vendors. Alameda Art Lab can also acquire lead came, putty for you to purchase.
Prerequisite: Beginning stained glass (either at Alameda Art Lab or elsewhere)
