JaYing Wang
For the past 3 years, JaYing was co-owner, with Rachel Gingold, of Artistic Home Studio & Boutique on Park Street, Alameda where she taught classes in mosaics, stained glass and fused glass to hundreds of adults and children. She has been a mosaic and glass artist since 1995 and an art teacher since 2002. In the mid-2000's, JaYing owned Children's Art Studio, also in Alameda, where she taught art to pre-school children and elementary school kids. She has also taught after-school art classes for Alameda Education Foundation, teaching at most of the elementary schools in town. In addition to teaching classes, JaYing also loves to work on larger commissions. She has created many public mosaic murals in collaboration with schools, as well as commissions for churches, restaurants, and a shopping center. Click here for a gallery of some of her public mosaic projects.

Lorena HerriotLorena, the Art Lab's Artist in Residence, owned a successful decorative concrete painting business in Colorado. After moving to Alameda, she attended one of JaYing's fused glass workshops 3 years ago. She loved it and became a fixture at the studio making fused glass, stained glass, mosaics, wire jewelry and sculptures. Lorena's craftsmanship and talent is unparalleled, and she is amazing with power tools! We are very fortunate to have her talent and vivacity at the Art Lab.
