Dec. 1 (Sun): Torched Fine Silver Rings
You will have enough fine silver wire to make rings, earring and a pendant. So make some for youself and some for gifts!
Taught by instructor Janet Kornegay, silver and metal artist. You can use fine silver wire to make stylish and beautiful stackable rings! Fine silver is a pure metal, and doesn’t require a solder to join the ends of the wire. In class you will learn how to coil and flush cut your wire to make multiple rings, and use a butane torch to fuse the fine silver. Janet will teach how to add surface texturing and work harden your rings with hammers as well as how to size finger rings for proper fit. This fusing technique can be used to create other design pieces, or even to create handmade chain!
This class has been designed so that no previous fusing experience is required.
• 14 gauge and 12 gauge fine silver wire – 12 inches of wire will make ~5 stacking rings (depending on size)
