May 22 (Sun): Melted Beeswax Collage on Canvas
Taught by Berkeley artist Elaine Chu. The look of a finished piece is like an encaustic wax painting, but made with cut papers. Using melted beeswax, mulberry paper, tissue paper, and found images, learn to create a truly unique piece for your home. All materials provided, make two pieces, one canvas size is 8.5" x 10.5” and one 6"x6". Students may also bring photocopy images (instead of actual photos), a short poem, handwritten phrases, paper mementos or pressed petals/leaves.
Elaine G. Chu is an artist/educator with a background in graphic design and music. Her beeswax art has been published in “Somerset Studio Gallery” magazine.
