July 28 (Sat): Melted Beeswax Collage on Canvas
Saturday 7/28/18 1-4pm
PLEASE NOTE TIME OF THIS WORKSHOP IS 1-4pm! Taught by Berkeley artist Elaine Chu. The look of a finished canvas is like an encaustic wax painting, but made with cut papers. Using melted beeswax, mulberry paper, tissue paper, and found images, learn to create a truly unique piece for your home. All materials provided, canvas size is 8.5" x 10.5”. Students may also bring photocopy images (instead of actual photos), a short poem, handwritten phrases, paper mementos or pressed petals/leaves. If you finish early and there is enough time, you can do a second smaller canvas (5.5" x 7").
Elaine G. Chu is an artist/educator with a background in graphic design and music. Her beeswax art has been published in “Somerset Studio Gallery” magazine.
