This is a very different mosaic class from my usual mosaic classes, and I'm excited to teach it. You will be creating two 6x6" mosaics using pieces of slate, rocks, other stones and colored glass. Combining natural rocks with pops of intense colored glass creates mosaics that are very unique.
In this class, you will learn to use various tools to break pieces of slate and flagstone. You will also choose from a selection of pebbles, colored glass, beads and even use paint or copper foil to add color to glass or rocks. A considerable amount of time will be spent on creating your design before you place the pieces into cement. The finished piece will not be grouted as the cement will be black. Take home the same day.
