Oct. 15 (Sun): Torch-fired Fine Silver Rings
Sun. 10/15/23
2-5pm
Adults and Teens age 15+
You will have enough fine silver wire (purer than sterling) to make up to 10 rings (depends on size), or turn some into earring or necklaces. So make some for yourself and some for gifts!
Taught by instructor Janet Kornegay, silver and metal artist. You will use fine silver wire to make stylish and beautiful stackable rings, earrings, necklaces. Fine silver is almost pure silver and doesn’t require solder to join the ends of the wire. In class you will learn how to coil and flush cut your wire to make multiple rings and use a butane torch to fuse the fine silver. Janet will teach how to add surface texturing and work harden your rings with hammers as well as how to size finger rings for proper fit. This fusing technique can be used to create other design pieces, or even to create handmade chain!
This class has been designed so that no previous fusing experience is required.
Materials (included):
• 14 gauge and 12 gauge fine silver wire – 12 inches of wire will make up to 10 stacking rings (depending on size)
